Sporting activities in winter? More than ever!

As soon as it starts to get cold, grey and foggy outside, we prefer to stay in our warm living room instead of running around in grim weather.
If this is just the case now and then or after having practiced some physical exercise, there is nothing to object to. Nestling down in a cuddly blanket on the sofa is cozy and is part of the beautiful sides of winter time.
But if we neglect physical exercise most of the time, we will feel our joints in a negative way sooner or later. They stiffen and start to hurt. Nutrients like collagen, vital for the joint cartilage, need to be transported to the joints in winter too. And for this, physical exercise is indispensable.
Of course, it costs quite an effort to go outside for physical exercise in cold and nasty weather. But going for a walk or Nordic walking can be practiced in every weather. As they say: There is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing. There are beautiful winter sports like cross-country skiing or snowshoeing! Spending time outside refreshes body and soul both at the same time.
But if the weather is really forbidding, there are many possibilities for indoor exercise like swimming or training in a fitness center. What counts is exercise and this as joint-friendly as possible.
So: get out of your “frozen paralysis” and be active – your joints will thank it to you.
